The Commons Cafe, South Melbourne

Newly opened The Commons Cafe in South Melbourne is a wonderful place that will not be a secret for the locals much longer!  Once discovered (if not already) you will love coming back to this wonderful oasis in inner city Melbourne.

On their delicious menu they are using various Brasserie Breads including our Quinoa & Soya Loaf, Sourdough Batard, daily pastries, Banana & Spelt bread and various cakes.

The Commons Cafe is housed in the gorgeous grounds of South Melbourne Commons.  You will find gardens meandering along the outside of the cafe’s heritage listed building brimming with delicious vegetables used in the cafe and also sold on-site at The Commons Pantry.

They are open 7 days a week and closed public holidays.  You will find them on the corner of Bank & Montague St, South Melbourne.  A perfect place to take children too as they have a children’s playground equipped with a large sandpit & play area.  On The Commons Cafe flyer it reads… ‘South Melbourne Commons is a social enterprise encouraging community and sustainability through engagement and education’.  I felt like I had visited a beautiful country home-stead and yet I was just a 5-minute drive to the heart of the Mebourne CBD!

Having the option to sit & enjoy the outdoors amongst the vegetable garden beds is fabulous!
